Bamboo]], and former bassist for other iconic bands like Rivermaya,pinikpikan and Kapatid, and brother of guitarist Nick Azarcon of Sinosikat?.
Early years; Bazurak Azarcon First started playing bass during early 90’s for punk funk rock outfit Bazurak. They covered songs from sex pistols, RHCP and the ramones. former members include juni lerma guitarist radio active sago project richard recto on vocals, paolo lerma on drums, jjohn Valencia on guitars, mark escueta drums rivermaya.

1993 auditions for the band were held by two virtual unknowns in the music industry, Lizza Nakpil and director Chito Roño . rico blanco andAzarcon were 90’s RIVERMAYA the first two members. The others consisted of Jessie Gonzales on vocals, Kenneth ilagan on guitars, Rome Velayo on drums Ilagan was replaced with Perfecto de Castro; Azarcon also recruited former Bazurak bandmate and childhood friend, Mark Escueta, to replace Velayo, as well as former classmate Francisco "Bamboo" Mañalac to replace Gonzales. By November 1994, the band had released its first album, the self-titled Rivermaya, and its first single, "Ulan"(azarcon/blanco) shot to the top of the charts. Its second and third singles “awit ng kabataan and “214”(blanco) were the first songs to have a melodic bass interlude which would soon become an Azarcon staple. with the departure of de castro The band's second album Trip, blanco and azarcon filled in for guitar duties. The single “himala” contains a rare nylon guitar solo by azarcon on the instrumental part. However he refused to be credited with it. Azarcon also showcased his further musical growth on the funky finger style, ]]pop and slap]] heavy “is it sunny where you are”. His use of the root third and fifth as well as the double stops on the hit single “himala” complimented Blanco’s guitar playing and the Escueta, drum accents. In 1997, the band released its third album, Atomic Bomb. A more funkier and playfully melodic azarcon can be heard on stand out tracks such as “hinahanap hanap kita” and “sunny days”. The album also showcases Azarcons increasingly active songwriting on the hit songs “if and “luha”.

1998 departure of vocalist bamboo Manalac, the remaining rivermaya members recorded the album “its not easy being green”. It was not commercially well received as the band was still reeling from the loss of its charismatic frontman.

During the latter part of 1998 Azarcon started experimenting with reggae, afro Cuban, acid funk and Philippine indigenous music. His apprenticeship under sammy asuncion, guitar player of rock reggae band spy would lead him to the much sought after bass chair on the 1999 ATAS album of the grounbreaking ethnic rock group PINIKPIKAN.
